Proper care is essential to maintaining the softness, beauty, and longevity of your AyL Legacy hair. Follow these recommendations to help keep your wigs and extensions looking their best.

Washing Your Hair

Gently detangle the hair before washing, starting from the ends and working upward.
Use lukewarm water rather than extremely hot water.
Use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo and moisturizing conditioner suitable for human hair.
Avoid aggressively rubbing, twisting, or bunching the hair while washing.
Rinse thoroughly and gently remove excess water.
Allow the hair to air dry whenever possible.

Detangling

Always detangle gently using a wide-tooth comb, detangling brush, or appropriate wig brush.

Start at the ends of the hair and gradually work toward the roots.

For curly and wavy textures, use extra care to preserve the natural curl or wave pattern.

Heat Styling

Our human hair products can be heat styled; however, excessive heat can shorten the lifespan of the hair.

Always apply a heat protectant before using flat irons, curling irons, hot combs, or other heated styling tools.

Use the lowest effective temperature necessary to achieve your desired style.

Coloring & Chemical Processing

Human hair may be colored or chemically processed; however, these processes can affect the condition, texture, curl pattern, and longevity of the hair.

We strongly recommend having coloring, bleaching, or chemical processing performed by an experienced professional stylist.

Wig & Lace Care

Handle lace carefully when installing, removing, and styling your wig.

Avoid excessive pulling or tension around the lace and hairline.

When applying or removing adhesives, use products designed specifically for lace wigs and follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Never aggressively pull adhesive from the lace.

Curly & Wavy Hair

To help maintain curls and waves:

Detangle gently while the hair is damp.
Use a lightweight leave-in conditioner or curl-friendly moisturizing product when needed.
Avoid excessive brushing when dry.
Gently scrunch the hair to help restore its natural pattern.
Allow the hair to air dry whenever possible.

Sleeping

We recommend removing your wig before sleeping whenever possible.

If sleeping with installed hair, protect it with a silk or satin bonnet, scarf, or pillowcase to help reduce friction, tangling, and dryness.

For longer hair, loosely braid or secure the hair before sleeping.

Product Use

Avoid excessive use of heavy oils, gels, sprays, and other products that may cause buildup.

A small amount of lightweight hair serum or oil can be used when necessary to maintain softness and shine.

Storage

When your wig is not being worn, store it on a wig stand or mannequin head whenever possible to help maintain its shape.

Hair extensions should be clean, completely dry, gently detangled, and stored in a cool, dry location.

Avoid storing damp hair.

Longevity

The lifespan of human hair varies depending on factors including frequency of wear, installation method, styling, heat exposure, chemical processing, products used, and overall maintenance.
